Vision & Mission

The college is committed to the pursuit of excellence in higher education, total character and personality building. Our vision is to produce a well-rounded, self-confident, positive young person with the following attributes:

1. An inquiring and fearless mind.

2. Respectful of others' view points.

3. Believes in the values of social justice and equality.

4. Leadership skills across the spectrum-social, political, commercial and cultural.

5. Ability to stand for others and self.

Our strategies to achieve these goals are:

Development of Holistic Personality: The college along with the classroom teaching complements students with a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The college has NSS, NCC, Rovers and Rangers and various clubs like Red Ribbon Club, Eco Club, Road Safety Club, Electoral Literacy Club and Energy Club. The students work under the careful supervision of teachers and the primary objective of these activities is to understand their different responsibilities, community service and social bonhomie.

Discipline: The primary mission of the college is to educate young men and women and help them understand the value of education so that they can lead a life based on moral values and service to nation. The teachers along with classroom lectures try to inculcate the spirit of value-based life with emphasis on universal values and critical thinking.

Interaction and Communication: The teaching faculty frequently interacts with the students and shares with them the vision of the academic session. The college Principal organizes an induction at the beginning of the session to address students and also introduces them to the various facets of the college. The information related to various State sponsored and Centre sponsored scholarship schemes are also communicated to the students on a regular basis.

Upholding Cultural Values:The location of college is distinct as it is a point of intersection and interaction of cultural activities of three different districts-- Kullu, Shimla and Kinnaur. The college also has a Tribal Girls’ Hostel and a Tribal Boys’ Hostel where students from District Kinnaur can apply for accommodation. The college takes initiatives to promote oral tradition and multicultural programmes of these districts so that the students can comprehend the basic values of diversity. These interactions increase the sense of and the sensibility towards the understanding of new cultures and also promote equitability amongst the students.
