SOCH Literary Society:

SOCH (Students of Creative Harmony) Literary Society is an initiative of the Department of English, Rampur Bushahr, that aims at the overall growth and personality of the students through literary, cultural and community outreach activities. A major objective of SOCH is ‘welfare through empowerment’ and inculcating a spirit of ‘sharing and giving’ amongst the students and participants. The society has been formed with a vision of bringing out the best creative expression in the students, developing harmony through creativity and building team spirit through academic and cultural participation.

The primary focus of the society is on issues pertaining to:
  • Promotion of literary activities.
  • Learning creative writing skills.
  • CInculcating creative thinking.
  • Encouraging multi-cultural local folk activities.
  • Understanding environmental concerns in modern times.
  • Raising social awareness through community outreach programmes like winter clothes donation and women empowerment related activities.

Red Ribbon Club

Red Ribbon Club works with the motto of “Prevention is better than cure”. It is a voluntary program for students in the institution.

Objectives :-
  • Educate youth with correct, concise and adequate information and heighten their level of awareness about HIV AIDS and other related issues (thus eliminate myths and misconceptions).
  • Sensitize the youth regarding care and support needs of people affected with HIV AIDS and instill in them the spirit to reduce the stigma and discrimination against them.
  • Create and train, among the youth a cadre of peer educators for spreading awareness about HIV-AIDS and its prevention in the community.
Programs:-
  • Awareness Programmes on AIDS.
  • HIV-AIDS Awareness Rally.
  • Voluntary Blood Donation.
  • Poster Making /Slogan Writing Competition.
  • Skits ,Declamation Contest , Essay Writing, Quiz etc.

Commerce Association

Commerce Association was formed in 1998 under the chairmanship of Prof. Rajesh Dholta with the aim to conduct co-curricular activities like debate/ declamation, quiz contests, seminars and educational trips to various places.

College culture club has been functioning in the college since 2007 under the presidentship of Dr. Suneela Sharma with the strenth of more than150 stundents. the sole objective of the club is to entrance the creative and performing talent amongst the students of the college by providing them opportunities to participate in the intra college, inter- college, state and national level cultural programme and competition.

Geographical Society

The Geographical Society is running in this college which represents over 350 student and faculty members. It is headed by President Prof. R.L Negi with other four office bearer. The society aim to provide fun geography related activities such as tour of geographical sites as well as host practical events such as geography specific career events with leading academics and employers. The society also helps geography live upto its reputation as social science. The society also organize quiz competition, seminars, debates and specific days related to geography.

Science Association

The science block is situated below the administrative block of the college in a very peaceful environment.

At present there are four departments:

Chemistry, Physics, Botany and Zoology.

All the departments have well equipped laboratories. Each department has its own projector and computer which facilitate teaching.

The science faculty forms the science association every year by nominating/electing member from the staff and students for various posts which are as follow.

The science association organizes a science function, a Trip and a quiz every year.

Special Achievements:

it is a matter of immense proud for the entire science faculty that one of our student miss. Sonika Negi begged top position in the merit list oh H.P university B.sc examination (2011-12).

B.C.A. Association

BCA Association was formed in 2012 under the chairmanship of Dr. S.B.Negi with the aim to conduct co-curricular activities like debate/ declamation, quiz contests, seminars and educational trips to various places.

Eco Club

Eco club has been established in Govt. College Rampur Bsr. with the motive to create awareness in the students about their environment. Eco club plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generations. It is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of students in learning about and improving their environment.

Activities under eco club:

• Tree plantation drives

• Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags

• Promote ethos of conservation of water

• Cleanliness drives in and around the campus

• Organize rallies with a view to spread environmental awareness
