Music plays a very important and vital role in the lives of the people. Music is also known to be the universal language of humanity. It has the power to bring positivity and entertainment in lives of people. Music also plays an important role in the world as it helps us in easily expressing ourselves. Music department in this college is constantly been in the process of enhancing the skills of our students which leads to an increase their productivity and output. Music Department (Vocal and Instrumental) facilitates student and faculty interaction through an excellent student teacher ratio in the class room.

Teaching Plan:-

Now a days online teaching is in process, in the department of music we are teaching through Whatsapp having formulated groups of students and through Google Meet also. Apart from this, students learn the traditional forms of Indian classical music under “Guru Shishya Prampra”.

Program Specific Outcomes And Course Outcome:-

  • The student is able to give a practical demonstration of Ragas
  • Student is able to demonstrate various aspects of Ragas and their differentiation.
  • Student studies about the Theoretical aspects of prescribed Ragas.
  • Student learns to write the practical compositions according to the Notation System.
  • Student studies about various artists in Hindustani Music and about their contributions.
  • Student studies about the Gharanas in Hindustani Music.
  • Student studies about various Talas in Hindustani Music and they learn basic playing of Tabla.
  • Student learns about the music in Vedic Period, and understands the basic terminologies of Hindustani Music.
  • Students have field visits to Doordarshan/ All India Radio or other institutions which enhances their knowledge and thereafter prepare a report based on the visit, as well as they learn how to prepare a PPT also.
  • Student learns about the importance of various festivals and fairs in their surroundings.
